The City Council of the City of Los Angeles passed a resolution in recognition of his numerous achievements and outstanding work in the field of music. PERSONAL Dr. Luther Henderson was born in New York City and moved to Los Angeles when he was seven years old. Upon graduation from Susan Miller Dorsey High School he studied at The University of Rochester’s Eastman School of Music earning both his Bachelor and Master’s degrees in music education. He received his doctorate from The University of Texas at Austin. He is married to Patricia G. Siever, the Director
of the Accelerated College Transfer Program, and Professor of History
at West Los Angeles College. Professor Siever is the former Vice President–Board
of Governors- California Community Colleges. She was
appointed to the Board of Governors by Governor Pete Wilson and reappointed
by Governor Gray Davis. Patricia Siever and Luther Henderson have
